I just wanted to check in and give you the update on this .... one of the best weekends ever.

Friday was a rough day because my friend George was having his last day at work. Its going to be different without him there, but hopefully the company won't fold. We had lunch at the 99 down the street. Then around 2 we had cake in his honor (he has worked for the company for 17 years). Afterwork we went out to drink at the Liberty lounge. After that I went to pick up Margery. We went out to eat at the holy ground. Good meal, and it ended up being $10 with tip. Afterwards we picked up Matt and Brian and went to hang at the bookstore for a while. They had a pomegranate Oolong tea, and there was a sale on tea, so I had to buy some more cans for work. They kicked us out of the bookstore, so we went to Rockbottom and got a beer sampler each, and proceded to hang out there until 1:00 or so. Then we drove to drop off Margery, and then the other guys and I ended up getting to be around 2:20.

Saturday started off a little slow, but got good. We collected the others around 5:00-5:30 and headed to providence for "waterfire". After some slight detours we made it to the capital of that small state right before dusk. Parking wasn't a problem. We got to watch the lighting of a torch procession, which then went down to light all the brazers set along the water. There were black motor boats with people in all black driving up and down the river refilling the brazers and just generally adding to the atomosphere. There where also gondola rides and tour boat rides up and down the river. There was quite a crowd of people everywhere we went. Around all this there where lots of little booths selling food and stuff. There where also quite a few living statues (many of which I recognized from The Brigade). We walked casualy, and enjoyed the night and the fires and the atmosphere. We then went to a pub for dinner. The watress was fantasticly honest (you don't want to drink the house alcohol without mixing it with something to mask the tast) and I think deserved a better tip than we gave her (Even though we did give here close to 20%). The food was great and well preportioned for the price. Afterwards we saw some more living statues and then drove home (sans a similar detour as the way up).

Was a great weekend. Movie wise I have seen "the 9th gate", which I thought was great. I also watched the original "Wicker Man". A definitely interesting movie that really surprized me at the end. Also saw Muholand drive. Nice lesbian scene, but until I read an analysis of the idea of the story I had no clue what was going on. Oh, and I thought that all of the acting was very wooden except for the part where she was actually acting in the movie (There was a practice for her to become an actrice in the movie).

Ok, Going to eat some orange sherbert now. Have a good one.
