Hey guys,
Its been a while. I've been doing well. Runing around like a maniac.
I have been very busy with work. I got put in charge of a project to re-order / redesign a 40 year old transducer because we have run out of the ceramics for it. I was very honored that Donnie assigned the project to me. Its been a bit of a pain in my ass, but I think its a good learning experience. Everything is lining up, and I feel like i'm starting to fit in well.
I have been trying to jog with Matt and Nick every day, but it ends up being only about 3 times a week. Still not able to do much more than a mile, but feel like i'm slowly and steadily getting better. Afterwards, we usually go to Matts house and watch internet media.
I also have signed up to NetFlicks. I get about three movies a week. So far i've gotten a few Helsings, RoboCop, Time Bandits, Porkies, and a few others. I also went and bought Team America: world Police, and The 40 year old virgin. I'm also trying to watch all of the Superman movies before the new one comes out.
What else? Been playing WOW more. Been going to trivia every tuesday. Been having movie nights with either the guys or the girls. Went to a 'game night' at a place called the Common Ground. It was fun. We played Risk and got rocked by some stranger. It seems like a good organization and might be worth exploring the other activities they do. Everyone we played with that night was an engineer. It seems like its an organization to get Young Professionals together.
So, I bought a few comics the other day. Not only did I read, and LOVE 'Maus' but I also bough a Will Eisner called family matters, that really was quite eye opening. I read volume 5 of Swamp thing, written by Alan Moore, that left with such a cliff ending, that I have had the urge to buy the next one very strongly since I finished it. The new Hellboy, as most often, was fantastic. It explained all of the background of the dragons that he is constantly in battle with, and paved the way for Hellboy to grow more. Finaly I have Given a comic by Harvey Pekar a chance, and have not been disapointed. The Series is called American Splendor and is about the complexities of everyday life. It is extreamly well written, and has a humanity to it that is very rare in comics.
Well, thats it. Well, not it it, but close enough. So many projects, and so much to do. Did I tell you all that my sister and I (well more her than I, I'm more of the 'financial backer') are well underway with my new halloween costume? I hope it ends up well. So far it looks good, but thats only because my sister is very artistcly talented when she wants to be.
Ok, everybody get off my lawn. This means you shorty.
::I do really appreciate it, but seriously guys, the next time my mom comes over, if she looks in the fridge, she will think i'm running a speak easy::
